Couple thoughts on Andrew
Hello,
Just wanted to chime in with a couple thoughts on Andrew. It hasbeen a real pleasure for myself and for Al and Jason to get to playmusic and hang out with Andrew over the last 3 and a half years. Thefirst time I met Andrew, he brought his bass over to my house to have a jam session with Al and myself in my living room. I had a copyof "Cabbage Alley" by The Meters on my table, and he said, "Man, Cabbage Alley is an awesome album." I had the feeling then that Iwould be friends with Andrew for a long time, and I was right.
When you ride in a car with 4 guys for about 60,000 miles, you really getto know those people. Andrew, Al, Jason, and myself pretty much haveour own lexicon and crazy jokes that most people find incoherent, childlike, and dumb, but that we find absolutely hysterical. The 4 us have had as much fun hanging out getting to the gigs as we have had playing them. I am going to miss getting to watch Andrew get excited as he buys 5 doughnuts at some truck stop at 3 in the morning. I am also going to miss laughing at Andrew as he groans in pain and disbelief shortly after making the mistake (again and again)of eating 5 doughnuts in 3 minutes. Andrew is a great vocalist and a great bass player, and it has been my pleasure to anchor down the rhythm section with him. The 4 of us have all grown as musicians/performers and people over the years, and it has been great to be apart of it and watch it all happen. We feel sad and will miss getting to hang out with Andrew as much as we do now. However, he is clearly excited about being a full-time dad, and that is a noble venture, so we totally understand and are happy for Andrew. So, cheers to Andrew, thanks for the good times, and good luck. PLUMP is inviting everyone to come watch Andrew play with PLUMP onelast time. The show will be at the Jellyphish Lounge in Houston, TX on FRI JUN 3, and will surely be a foot-stomping affair of epicproportions, so come out early and prepare for us to funk your faceoff.
PLUMP is in the process of trying out a couple new players. We hope to be at full speed and up and running playing everywhere we can in a few short months. We are excited about the propect of adding some new dynamics to the band, and we will definitely be ready to rock!!!!!!!!
Thanks
Doug
